About the community
Tulsa Global District was developed in the 1960s & 1970s with suburban style development. Now, Tulsa Global District is home to 4,439 households and 12,531 residents. Home to many young families, about 27 percent of residents are children. With the only international bus station in Tulsa in the heart of the district, this area of Tulsa has transformed into an entry point for immigrants over the past 20 - 30 years.
Currently, the Tulsa Global District is the most diverse community in Tulsa, with over 25 countries represented and 80 languages or dialects spoken. The area has a significant Latinx community, including residents from Mexico and Central America. Additionally, there are a variety of Asian populations represented, including the Vietnamese and Hmong communities. In fact, the percentage of Hispanic/Latinx and Asian residents is almost double that of Tulsa.
